Leaving ChiroFusion? A Chiropractor's Step-by-Step Guide to Switching to Turncloud
Leaving ChiroFusion? A Chiropractor’s Step-by-Step Guide to Switching to Turncloud

ChiroFusion has earned a solid reputation among chiropractic practices. It is cloud-based, designed for chiropractors, and brings scheduling, documentation, billing, claims management, and patient communication into one system.
For an insurance-focused practice, that combination can work well.
But as your office grows, the total cost and complexity may start to look different. Additional doctors add monthly provider fees. Useful features on Essentials come with separate charges. Clearinghouse and setup costs can also affect your budget.
If you are considering a switch from ChiroFusion, this guide explains what to expect when moving to Turncloud: clearly and honestly.
At a Glance
What does a ChiroFusion-to-Turncloud migration include?
Turncloud migrates only patient demographics, insurance details including group and member ID numbers, insurance and patient balances, and employer information. Visit history, SOAP notes, charts, attachments, past appointment history, and full billing ledgers or claims history are not imported into Turncloud; your practice must export and securely archive those records from ChiroFusion for reference and record retention.
Why Chiropractors Consider Leaving ChiroFusion
ChiroFusion does several things well. Its cloud-based design lets your team access the system from internet-connected devices, and its core workflows are built around chiropractic practices. It also supports scheduling, compliant notes, care plans, billing, claims, electronic remittance advice, and patient engagement.
The question is not whether ChiroFusion can support a chiropractic office. It can.
The question is whether its pricing structure still makes sense for your practice.
According to ChiroFusion’s pricing page, the current base plans range from:
- Essentials annual: $129 per month
- Complete annual: $299 per month
- Essentials monthly: $149 per month
- Complete monthly: $329 per month
Every plan also charges $49 per month for each additional provider.
That fee may be manageable with one doctor. It becomes more noticeable as you add chiropractors, associate doctors, or providers at additional locations.
The Essentials plan also lists several add-ons:
- Text Appointment Reminders: $79 per month
- Online Patient Intake Forms: $29 per month
- Online Patient Scheduling: $29 per month
- Priority Phone Support: $59 per month
That is $196 per month if an Essentials subscriber adds all four.
Insurance billing can bring another cost into the picture. ChiroFusion’s FAQ directs customers to Office Ally for clearinghouse information, and the pricing information provided for this comparison lists Office Ally costs at approximately $45 per month per provider, plus a $299 setup fee. Confirm current clearinghouse terms directly with ChiroFusion and Office Ally before making a change.
Competitors often charge per-provider fees and add-on costs as your office grows. Turncloud takes a simpler approach with a flat office subscription.
The Turncloud Essential plan is $99 per month, with no per-provider fees for unlimited doctors and providers in the same office. The Turncloud Expanded Automation plan is $149 per month and adds AI SOAP Notes via Chiroglyphix™, care plan tracking, and automatic claim creation.
Step 1: Define What Moves and What Gets Archived
The most important part of a successful chiropractic EHR migration is setting the right expectations.
Turncloud does not import every item from ChiroFusion. Turncloud’s migration scope is limited to:
- Patient demographics
- Insurance details, including group and member ID numbers
- Insurance balances
- Patient balances
- Employer information
That is the complete migration scope.
The following information is not imported into Turncloud:
- Visit history
- SOAP notes
- Clinical charts
- Attachments
- Imaging files and other documents
- Past appointment history
- Full billing ledgers
- Claims history
Your practice must export these records from ChiroFusion and archive them securely. The archive should remain available for reference and record retention according to your practice policies and applicable requirements.
This two-part approach is straightforward:
- Move the active demographic, insurance, balance, and employer information your team needs in Turncloud.
- Preserve historical clinical, appointment, and financial records in a secure archive outside Turncloud.

Step 2: Export Your ChiroFusion Data Before Canceling
ChiroFusion states that customers own their data and can export it using standard formats such as CSV and PDF. Its FAQ also explains that data can be exported at no additional charge.
Start the export process before canceling your account.
ChiroFusion’s End User License Agreement says subscribers are responsible for exporting their data within seven days after account termination. Do not wait until the last day. Download and verify your files while you still have full access.
Ask ChiroFusion support to explain its current export and data-retrieval process. Specifically, ask how to export:
Patient and insurance data
Export patient demographics and insurance reports in a structured format when possible.
Keep information such as:
- Patient names and dates of birth
- Addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses
- Patient identifiers or chart numbers
- Insurance carrier information
- Group numbers and member ID numbers
- Subscriber details
- Employer information
- Current insurance and patient balances
Turncloud will use the applicable demographic, insurance, balance, and employer fields for migration. Keep the original export files as part of your archive.
Clinical records
Request a complete export of clinical documentation, including:
- SOAP notes
- Clinical charts
- Care plans
- Diagnoses
- Treatment records
- Attachments
- Imaging reports and uploaded documents
These records are not imported into Turncloud. They should be exported from ChiroFusion and stored securely for reference and record retention.
Ask ChiroFusion support whether clinical records are delivered as PDFs, individual patient files, a bulk archive, or another format.
Appointment history
Export past appointment history for your archive.
Future appointments should be reviewed and re-entered into Turncloud’s scheduler. Appointment history is not imported into Turncloud.
Billing and claims
Export reports covering:
- Charges
- Payments
- Adjustments
- Claims
- Remittance information
- Open claims
- Patient balances
- Accounts receivable
- Full billing ledgers
Turncloud migrates insurance and patient balances, but full billing ledgers and claims history are not imported. Keep those reports in your secure archive and confirm how your billing team will handle open claims during the cutover.
Step 3: Clean Up Your Data
Migration is a good time to remove confusion from the information that will move.
Work from a copy of your export files. Keep the original exports untouched.
Review the data for:
- Duplicate patient records
- Inactive providers
- Former locations
- Outdated phone numbers and email addresses
- Incomplete birth dates
- Duplicate insurance policies
- Open claims that need follow-up
- Patient balances that need confirmation
- Employer information that is no longer current
Do not delete historical records simply because they are old. Historical charts, notes, attachments, appointment history, and billing records still need to be archived securely.
The goal is to make the data being migrated clean and reliable while preserving everything else in its original form.

Step 4: Work With Turncloud’s Implementation Team
Turncloud’s implementation team helps you review the available files and map the fields that belong in the new system.
The implementation process should cover:
- Reviewing your ChiroFusion exports.
- Confirming the four migration categories.
- Mapping patient demographic fields.
- Mapping insurance group and member ID numbers.
- Matching patient IDs to avoid duplicate records.
- Mapping insurance and patient balances.
- Mapping employer information.
- Confirming providers and office locations.
- Reviewing the secure archive plan for non-migrated records.
Ask for a sample migration before the full import.
Review several types of records, including:
- A new patient
- A patient with insurance
- A patient with an insurance balance
- A patient with an outstanding patient balance
- A patient with employer information
- A patient whose demographic information recently changed
The sample review should focus on the information Turncloud actually migrates. It should not imply that historical notes, charts, attachments, past appointments, or full billing ledgers have been imported.
Step 5: Prepare Staff for a Faster Implementation
Turncloud is optimized for key chiropractic office workflows. That helps your team focus on daily work instead of building every process from scratch.
The platform brings together:
- Patient intake
- Demographic data entry
- Scheduling
- Automatic appointment reminders
- Two-way texting
- Notes
- Billing
- Insurance workflows
- Reporting
Turncloud also follows a no-manual philosophy. The interface is designed to be intuitive, so staff can ramp up quickly without weeks of studying complicated instructions.
Train by role:
- Front desk: Patient intake, demographics, scheduling, reminders, and two-way texting
- Doctors: Patient information, care plans, and notes
- Billing team: Balances, claims, payments, and reports
- Practice owners: Reporting, permissions, workflows, and office oversight

Step 6: Set a Clear Go-Live Date
Choose a cutover date that works with your appointment calendar and billing cycle.
Before go-live:
- Complete the sample migration review.
- Confirm migrated demographics.
- Verify insurance group and member ID numbers.
- Confirm insurance and patient balances.
- Review employer information.
- Re-enter future appointments into Turncloud.
- Test patient intake.
- Test note workflows.
- Test billing and balance workflows.
- Test automatic reminders and two-way texting.
- Confirm where archived ChiroFusion records are stored.
Future appointments are not migrated. Your staff must re-enter them into Turncloud’s scheduler so the new calendar is accurate from day one.
On the cutover date, Turncloud becomes the system for new activity:
- New patients go into Turncloud.
- New appointments go into Turncloud.
- New notes go into Turncloud.
- New billing activity goes into Turncloud.
Step 7: Use a Short Parallel Run
Keep ChiroFusion available briefly after go-live for reference only.
Your staff may need to look up an old note, appointment, attachment, claim, or ledger entry. That is normal.
Avoid entering new activity in both systems for weeks. Double entry creates confusion and increases the chance that information will be missed or become inconsistent.
A practical approach is:
- Before go-live: Export, archive, clean, map, and test.
- Go-live week: Use Turncloud for all new activity.
- Short reference period: Keep ChiroFusion available for historical lookups.
- After stabilization: Retain the secure archive and retire the old workflow.
Step 8: Use Support After the Migration
Questions will come up during the first few days. A biller may need help reviewing a balance. A doctor may want to adjust a notes workflow. A front-desk team member may need help with scheduling or reminders.
Turncloud provides friendly, live-person, U.S.-based technical support.
The platform also includes automatic data backups, with offline storage options available. That gives your office an additional layer of protection and reduces the need to manage backups manually.

A Simpler ChiroFusion Alternative
ChiroFusion may be a good fit for many practices. But if per-provider fees and add-on costs are making your monthly bill harder to predict, it is reasonable to explore another option.
Turncloud offers a simpler path for practices looking for a chiropractic EHR migration:
- Essential is $99 per month with no per-provider fees for unlimited doctors and providers in the same office.
- Expanded Automation is $149 per month and includes AI SOAP Notes via Chiroglyphix™, care plan tracking, and automatic claim creation.
- The platform is cloud-based and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection.
- The interface is designed for fast implementation and minimal training.
- Automatic backups and offline storage options help protect your information.
- Live, U.S.-based support is available when your team needs help.
The key is to plan the transition honestly. Move only the data Turncloud migrates. Export and archive everything else. Set a clear cutover date, re-enter future appointments, and keep the old system available briefly for reference.
